Controls
The Fan Chart adds up all setlists anonymously: it only shows songs and points, never who picked them, and it stays closed until at least 5 fans have made a setlist.
Hold the mouse button, your finger, the space bar or arrow up to float up. Let go to drift down. Press F for full screen, Esc to leave it.
Every run starts with a countdown from 3, so you have a moment to get ready. Bottom left are two buttons: pause (or press P) and stop. Stop ends the run at once; your score and your level still count.
The music is Point Rush, a track made for kpop-fandom. Music on/off switches it off without muting the sound effects.
Lives and levels
You start with 3 lives. A hit costs one, and for 1.6 seconds after a hit nothing can hit you again. An Extra life bonus (more often when you are low: one in four bonuses with one life left), a gift after every level change and every 30 lights in a row give one back. Up to level 5 that only fills you up to 3 again; from level 6 on you can go up to 5.
There is one course a day, the same for every fan; a new one starts at 00:00 Seoul time. Play it as often as you like. It never ends: every level lasts one minute. The last five seconds of a level and the first five of the next have no obstacles: the crowd claps you through a stage arch into the next level, which brings its own time of day and, from level 2 to 7, a new kind of obstacle. Every level is faster, with smaller gaps and more drones. Skins only change the look, so everyone plays exactly the same game.
Reaching a new level gives you 500 × that level in points. Reaching level 2 to 14 for the first time opens a new world for Haepi, at the end of that run.
Play or Continue
The start screen has two buttons. Play is the Daily Run and counts for the board. Continue lets you carry on from the highest level you ever reached, to open the next worlds, with no score on the board.
| Play | Continue from level X | |
|---|---|---|
| Starts at | Level 1 | The beginning of the highest level you ever reached |
| Course | The Daily Run: the same for every fan, new at 00:00 Seoul time | A new course every run |
| Lives at the start | 3 | Full: 3, or 5 from level 6 |
| Score | From 0 | From 0 |
| New worlds | Yes, for every level you reach for the first time | Yes, for every level you reach for the first time |
| Legends | Yes, counted from the start of the run | Yes, counted from the start of the run |
| On the board | Yes, with an account | Never |
An example. Your best so far is level 6: you reached it, and it gave you the world of level 6, but you went out during level 6. Continue then starts at the beginning of level 6, with its speed, gaps and drones. Get through it and you reach level 7, which opens the next world at the end of the run. Go out during level 7, and your next Continue starts at the beginning of level 7. So you can work your way up, one level at a time, over as many runs as you like.
Your highest level counts from both buttons: reach level 8 in the Daily Run and your next Continue starts at level 8. Play itself always starts at level 1, so the board stays fair: everyone on it played the same course from the start. The Continue button appears once you have reached level 2. The first time you choose it, the game reminds you that it stays off the board; tick "Don't show this again" and it starts straight away from then on. During a Continue run the top left of the screen says CONTINUE · OFF THE BOARD.
Points
| What | Points |
|---|---|
| Every second you stay in the run | 5 |
| A light | 10 × your multiplier |
| Perfect wave: every light of one wave | 100 × your multiplier |
| Golden lightstick | 250 × your multiplier, and half a fever meter |
| Holo card (rare) | 500 |
| A new level | 500 × the new level |
Your multiplier goes up by 1 for every 10 lights in a row, up to ×5. Missing a light, getting hit or bumping the floor resets it. During Encore fever every point counts double.
Bonuses
| Bonus | What it does |
|---|---|
| Encore fever | Every light fills the fever meter a little, a golden lightstick fills half of it. When it is full: 7 seconds of double points and nothing can hit you. |
| Superpower | 6 seconds: 30% faster, glowing, and you fly straight through everything. |
| Fan chant (heart) | For 6 seconds the lights fly to you. |
| Extra life | One life back, up to 5. Rare. |
The superpower in every world
The power is the same everywhere, only the power-up changes with the world you play in.
| World | Power-up |
|---|---|
| Lilac and the Legends | Umbrella |
| Candy | Giant lollipop |
| Deep sea | Trident |
| Halloween | Broomstick |
| Antarctica | Snowboard |
| Bubbles | Giant bubble |
| Safari | Rhino charge |
| Full moon festival | Moon mallet |
| Dragon festival | Dragon dance |

What to dodge
One rule in every world: a red glow means dodge it, your own light colour means catch it. Everything without a glow is scenery.
| Obstacle | How it works |
|---|---|
| Trusses | Fly through the gap between the top and bottom part. The red edges are the parts to stay away from. |
| Drones | They float up and down, with a red glow. In every world they look different (a bat, a snowflake, a lantern), the glow stays red. |
| Stage lifts (from level 2) | A truss whose gap slides up and down. Time it: go through when the gap is where you are. |
| Laser beams (from level 3) | A red beam between two emitters that switches on and off. Fly over or under it, or through it while it is off (dotted line). It blinks brighter just before it switches on. |
| Zigzag (from level 4) | Two trusses right after each other, with their gaps at different heights. |
| Drone formations (from level 5) | Three drones in a V that move together. Go around the whole group. |
| Split route (from level 6) | A long rail splits the way. The high road has more lights and a drone, the low road is safe with fewer lights. |
| Blackout (from level 7) | Halfway through every level the lights go out for seven seconds: you only see what is close to Haepi. |
| Confetti cannon | A striped zone fills up as you come close, then blasts confetti up to the top of the zone. Fly over it. |
Skins and worlds
Worlds open by how far you get: reach the level in the table, in the Daily Run or with Continue, and the world is yours at the end of that run. Your light jar counts every light you ever caught. Skins only change how Haepi and the arena look; they never change the game.
| World | Opens at | After |

| Lilac | from the start | - |
| Homecoming | one run from your home screen | - |

Legends
Three skins you cannot collect, only earn in one single run. They are meant to be almost impossible.
| Legend | How to earn it |
|---|---|
| Gold | 30 perfect waves in a row: one missed light and you start again |
| Diamond | Survive 5 minutes without a single hit |
| Holo | The perfect encore: 6 minutes, no hit and not one light missed |
Play from your home screen
Put kpop-fandom on your home screen and it opens like an app: Haepi's Journey plays fullscreen, also on iPhone, and today's Daily is one tap away. There is no app store and nothing to download. It is free, and you remove it like any app.
| Phone | How |
|---|---|
| iPhone or iPad | In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. |
| Android | Tap Add to home screen when the site offers it, or open the browser menu and choose Install app. |
On your home screen you sign in once more with the code from your e-mail. With an account your cards, skins and streak come with you. Play one run of Haepi's Journey from the home screen and Haepi gets the Homecoming skin. Like every skin, it only changes the look.
The board
The board shows the fifteen best runs of today, this week (from Monday), this month and all time, in Seoul time. One fan can be on it more than once. Only accounts appear on it: a fan name and your e-mail, made in one step on The Daily. Continue runs never appear on it, only the Daily Run counts. Guests can play, but their runs stay off the board. Every run is checked: a score that is not possible in the time played is left off the board.
The Daily Run is the same course for every fan, all day. A new one starts at 00:00 Seoul time.
